Man charged with various offences involving violence and harassment after shoplifting

A Warrington man has been charged with various offences involving violence, harassment and shoplifting at Gemini Retail Park and Europa Boulevard.

Jack McCarthy, of no-fixed abode, Warrington, was arrested on Saturday 9 March.

The 31-year-old, has since been charged with –
• Eight counts of theft
• Three counts of battery
• Four counts of breach of his restraining order
• Common assault
• Causing grievous bodily harm
• Racially aggravated battery
• Criminal damage
The charges relate to incidents at Gemini Retail Park and Europa Boulevard that have occurred between Thursday 16 November 2023 and Tuesday 5 March 2024.
McCarthy has been remanded in police custody and is set to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court later today, Monday 11 March.
