A “bad taste joke” involving images of beastiality on his mobile phone landed a Warrington man in the dock.

The images were found on Stuart Parker’s mobile phone while he was being investigated about other unrelated matters, a court heard.

The images involved a dog, a horse and a cow.

When quizzed Parker explained that he was a member of a WhatsApp group and someone within the group decided to send the three images of extreme porn him as a joke.

Sentencing 59-year-old Parker, of St Mary’s Road, Warrington, Judge Anil Murray said that the defendant had not asked for the images but “you should have deleted them and you did not.”

He imposed a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered that the iPhone on which the images had been found be forfeited.

Martine Snowdon, defending, told Liverpool Crown Court that Parker did not realise he was committing a crime and nor did the other people in the WhatsApp group and he has warned them.

The matters which led to Parker’s phone being examined led to him facing a trial last month at the same court which resulted in him being acquitted of four offences of sexual assault involving teenage girls. He denied the allegations.
