WARRINGTON Rylands jumped back into second place in the NPL Premier League after Ben Hough scored an 86th minute winner against Matlock Town

Rylands had control of an uneventful match but found it tough to break down a strong defensive Derbyshire side

Luke Pilling in the home goal was never under threat whereas Saul Deeney at the other end had to work hard to keep the ball out of his net with shots coming from most of The Blues players

Just as it looked as though stalemate had been reached Nicky Hunt brought on the fresh legs of new signing Mark Duffy and Under 17’s youngster Ben Taylor. Both players fitted in immediately and helped pile the pressure onto The Gladiators

The deadlock was broken on the 86th minute when Duffy passed the ball to Swaby-Neavin who’s shot fell short of the target but landed at the feet of Hough. Hough obligingly wasted no time and beat Deeney to send the travelling team home with another defeat at the feet of Rylands
