LENGTHY delays were reported on the M56 near Warrington this afternoon after a three-vehicle collision which resulted in one car flipping onto its roof.
At 15:30 three fire engines from Lymm, Widnes, and Runcorn attended the scene of a three-vehicle road traffic collision on the M56 westbound between junctions 11 and 12 between Runcorn and Daresbury. One of the vehicles has overturned onto its roof.
One lane was reportedly closed while the incident was dealt with. Fire crews administered first aid to one casualty. Firefighters are making the vehicles safe.
16:10 – A covering jet is in use while firefighters deal with a fuel leak from one of the vehicles. A second casualty has received first aid from crews.
One lane is closed westbound between junction 11 for Daresbury and 12 for Runcorn.
National Highways is reporting long delays in the area with lane one of three closed with queues back to junction 10 at Stretton.
There are also delays reported on the opposite carriageway.
