Bid to open lap dancing premises at town centre nightclub

A licence is being sought to open a sexual entertainment centre, including lap dancing, at the Truth nightclub in Warrington town centre.

The application seeks to provide lap dancing, pole dancing, striptease and table dancing on the first floor of the premises on Friars Gate, Warrington.

Opening hours being sought are from 7 pm to 3 am seven days a week.

The application is being made in the name of We Uk Clubbing Ltd and is understood to be the management of the existing nightclub but will operate as a separate business should a licence be granted.

The Truth Nightclub opened in July last year, following the failure of the previous Trilogy nightclub.
Before that it had been the popular Showbar and has also previously been The Palace Theatre.

The former WA1 building, also in the town centre, had a short stint as a lap dancing club more than a decade ago.

Warrington Borough Council Cabinet Member for Economic Development & Innovation Cllr. Tom Jennings and the borough council have been approached for comment.
Cllr Jennings’ portfolio includes the town centre, which he has been actively promoting on social media this week, as the place to visit.
