Road closure to allow works on Appleton Reservoir

THERE will be a road closure for up to one week later this month (February) to allow United Utilities to carry out works on Appleton Reservoir.

The closure on Park Lane, Appleton will be from its junction with Warrington Road to its junction with Houghs Lane, starting on February 19 for up to a week.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Park Lane from its junction with Warrington Road to its junction with Houghs Lane.
The Order will be effective from 19th February 2024 for 1 week, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Chester Road, Walton New Road, Hill Cliffe Road, Walton Lea Road and vice versa. The closure is required to allow United Utilities to undertake works to Appleton Reservoir.
