RETURNING home from Workington with a point from last Saturday’s 2-2 draw, Warrington Rylands travel south to Nottinghamshire on Saturday to play Basford United in a NPL Premier Division game, kick off 3pm.

After seven seasons in the Northern Premier League set up Basford United were switched back to Southern League Premier Division Central for one season before rejoining the NPL fold last summer.
Having finished last season in 15th place life back in the NPL has not been easy for Basford United who have spent most of the season so far struggling in the lower reaches of the table, having spent a long time in the relegation zone they have been hovering above the dreaded dotted line since mid-November.
Losing 4-1 at Ilkeston Town last Saturday Basford are 18th in the NPL Premier Division and also 18th in the Division’s current form table with two wins and four defeats in their last six games while Rylands with 1 win, 4 draws and a defeat are 13th in the current form table.

Going into Saturday’s game the two team’s league records this season are:
P          W         D          L          GF        GA       GD       PTS      POS
Rylands            26        13        10        3          42        26        16        49        2
Basford            27        5          7          15        28        45        -17       22        18

Earlier this season Basford United visited The Hive Arena on Saturday 25th November when they took a point home from a 1-1 draw in which Adama Sidibeh scored a late equalizer for Rylands after Basford had taken the lead in the 63rd minute through Remaye Campbell.
It was one of ten games Rylands have drawn this season, a total bettered only by Bamber Bridge who have ended up all square on 11 occasions.

Having won 4 of their 14 home games with 4 draws and 6 defeats,  Basford have the 16th  best home record in the NPL Premier Division this season while Rylands, still unbeaten in the league on their travels,  have the 3rd  best away record, 5 wins and 8 draws, in the Division.
Basford United play at Mill Street Playing Fields, Greenwich Avenue, Basford, Nottingham NG6 0LD which according to Google Maps is approx 91 miles from Rylands Recreation Club and should take 1 hour 42 minutes
