A PLAN for six self-build and custom-built houses on land at Culcheth has been submitted to Warrington Borough Council.
The scheme – submitted by Mr and Mrs Paul Gafney – involves a one-acre site south of Holcroft Lane.
Story Homes have submitted an application for permission to build 186 homes on an adjoining wider area of land off Warrington Road.
A report to be considered by planning chiefs states that the land has been in the applicants’ ownership for more than 25 years.
The proposals are for four self-build houses for family members and two additional custom-built houses for people wishing to build their own houses.
The report states the scheme has been designed to meet the specific housing requirements of family members as well as the borough council’s requirement to provide sites for self-build houses.
Currently largely rough grassland, with a number of trees, the site has been allocated for release from the Green Belt as part of the borough Local Plan.
