SPECIALISING in Craft beers in a vintage setting Peggy McCools has now secured its full licence to operate as a craft beer and entertainment venue in Warrington.

The Erwood Street bar, near the Halliwell Jones Stadium, was previously an antiques dealership. It has made the move to a fully-fledged bar after several successful pop-up events led to local demand.

Priding itself on offering the best of regional craft beer, Peggy McCools will have up to six independent breweries featured on its brand-new pumps, with a wider selection, including IPAs, sours and goes in its fridges.

Currently on tap is Sureshot Brewery (It Was Alive When You Bought It – 5.5% ABV DDH Pale Ale), Track Brewery (Nowhere Near – 5.4% Pale Ale, and Time Flies By – 5.1% ABV Gluten Free Pale Ale), and Cloudwater Brewery (Dive In – 5% ABV Pale Ale). Estrella is also available on the pumps for those looking to enjoy a crisp lager.

Peggy McCools will also be providing a platform for regional bands and entertainers. It has already welcomed Warrington’s brand-new indie night Club Mojopia through the doors, as well as the popular Wazza Punx band night.
Not forgetting its roots, Peggy McCools offers a unique craft beer bar environment, with vintage furniture, signage, and artwork, a free-of-charge pool table for all visitors, and even offer a great selection of vintage clothing to purchase.

Matt McGinty, founder of Peggy McCools, said: “We’re proud to have gone through this evolution to provide a brand-new venue for Warrington that combines craft beers and entertainment for a community that appreciates both.
“We’re excited to bring new beers and flavour profiles from all over the region to our pumps and will be continuing to work with the great music promoters in town to provide a place for local musicians to be heard.”
Peggy McCool is open every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 1 pm to late. A takeout service will also be available for cans and bottles.
