WARRINGTON Rylands are on their travels on Saturday as they go looking for their first points of 2024, visiting Ashton United for a NPL Premier Division fixture.

Not having won in their last three outings since beating league leaders Radcliffe, Rylands will be looking to maintain their unbeaten away record being the only side in the top seven tiers of English Football to remain unbeaten away from home in league football this season.
After a New Year’s Day defeat at home to Macclesfield, Rylands visit to Hurst Cross takes manager Micahel Clegg back to the club where he was manager for nearly 4 years before leaving almost a year to the day of his return.
Ashton completed a league double over Rylands last season winning 3-1 at Hurst Cross in August when led by Clegg and 3-0 at Gorsey Lane in his replacement Steve Cunningham’s first game at the helm. Rylands won 2-0 at Gorsey Lane in August with Ben Hardcastle and Scott Bakkor on target.

Ashton United emerged from the festive programme 9th in the table having played drawn 2-2 at  home with Hyde United on New Years Day having lost 2-1 at home on Boxing Day to FC United of Manchester.
The two team’s league records this season are:

Rylands            23        12        8          3          39        24        15        44        2
