THE Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Steve Wright, will host two upcoming events at the town hall with a Burns Night in January and a Heritage Afternoon Tea event in March.

The Mayor Cllr Steve Wright, said: “As we step into the New Year, it is great to see the upcoming celebrations we have in store at the town hall. I hope many people from across the local community can join us.
“The Burns Night Supper is always an enjoyable event, and great to tuck into some haggis, neeps and tatties while enjoying the atmosphere of the town hall and listening to the poetry reading.
“Our Heritage Afternoon Tea events are also a favourite in the diary, giving guests the chance to reflect and learn more about our town and its history.”

Burns Night – Friday 26 January, 7pm to 10.30pm
The Mayor will host a Burns Night Supper at the town Hall. Burns Night marks the anniversary of the birth of Scottish poet Robert Burns, and a supper of Haggis is traditionally served to commemorate this anniversary. The date is recognised across the world to celebrate his life and work.

The Mayor will be joined by local historian Harry Wells, who has been documenting Warrington through photography since 1972. Guests will enjoy a talk featuring photos of locations including Bridgefoot, Bridge Street and the Town Hall, showcasing how Warrington has changed over the last 50 years.
