Teenage woman fined following purse theft from pensioner

A 19-year-old woman arrested following a CCTV appeal has been fined after admitting stealing a purse from a woman in her 70s who was shopping in Warrington town centre.

Nikol Tsvetkova, from Deighton Road, Deighton, Huddersfield was charged with theft. She appeared at Chester Magistrates today and pleaded guilty. She was ordered to pay £50 compensation, fined £300 and has to pay £120 victim surcharge and £120 court costs.

She was arrested after police released CCTV images of three women they wanted to speak to following a purse theft in Warrington.
At around 1.30 pm on 7 August a woman in her 70s was shopping in Sankey Street, Warrington, when she discovered her purse had been taken from her bag.

The women were seen leaving the area in a car which has links to the Huddersfield area of West Yorkshire.

  1. Hang on a minute. Surely she should be made to pay the whole amount back or what is the deterent. Can she be deported, any criminal activity should be immediate expulsion. This country is too soft and pathetic.
