Road closures for Carols from the Cross

A number of road closures will be in place this Sunday (December 24) for the traditional Carols from the Cross at Lymm village.

Thousands of people from Lymm and beyond are expected to pack into the village centre for the annual event organised by Lymm Parish Council and a team of community volunteers.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice that, on the occasion of the above mentioned event, no cart, carriage, motor car, lorry or other vehicle (excepting vehicles taking part in the event, Police, Ambulance and Fire Service vehicles and Mail Carts) and no horses or other animal be allowed to remain in or travel along or over any of the undermentioned streets

Between the hours of 4.30 pm and 9.30 pm
Eagle Brow, between Brookfield Road and The Cross,
The Cross
Lymm Bridge
New Road
Pepper Street, between Rectory Lane and The Cross

N.B. An alternative route will be available for through traffic via Brookfield Road, Dane Bank Road, Dane Bank Road East, and vice versa.

Bicycles and Tricycles are included in the term “vehicle” and must not be ridden through any of the above named streets during the hours specified. Any person wilfully acting in contravention of the above Order will be liable to a penalty not exceeding £400.

Vehicular access will be under the control of the organisers. Pedestrian and emergency routes will be maintained.
