Village hall committee seeking a new chairperson

CROFT Village Memorial Hall committee – which is celebrating its 103rd year – is seeking a new chairperson.

Current chairman Peter McCartney is standing down after several years in the voluntary role and is seeking a replacement.
The role involves leading a monthly meeting, being a conscience for safety and helping to promote the facility, along with generally “mucking in” as per most volunteer groups.

Peter said: “Enthusiasm, engagement, interest in the community – these are the keys to success in the role.
“If you could be the person to take the hall into its 104th year and would like to discuss, please contact me on 07703363201.”
Alternatively, you could email [email protected]
Croft Village Memorial Hall has been a centre for community life in the village since 1920, initially in a wooden structure before the current brick-built hall replaced it in 1965.
People from a wide area attend events there and it hosts a vibrant and often eclectic mixture of events and classes – something, in fact, for everyone.
