THOUSANDS enjoyed the magic of the annual Lymm Dickensian Day Festival as villagers took to the streets, many in Victorian costumes.

Around 200 Santa joined them from Lymm Runners, who started proceedings with a Santa Dash through the village, lined with cheering onlookers.

Town crier AJ Powell started proceedings as a parade, comprised of local school children in festive costumes and various community groups paraded through the village.

Chief organiser Colin Oakley, dressed in period costume, was thankful the wind and rain held off for the main event and thanked sponsors Kids Planet and Lymm Parish Council for their support, ensuring the event could take place.
