No. 10 reception to thank police officers for tackling crime and keeping communities safe

THE achievements of two Warrington-based Police Officers were celebrated at a special reception in 10 Downing Street in recognition of their exceptional commitment to their communities.

PC Ann Muldowney and PC Emma Pitt were invited by Warrington South MP Andy Carter to join around 100 police officers and others who work in community safety from across the UK, to receive recognition for their hard work and determination towards tackling crime and keeping families safe in their areas.

PC Muldowney covers Appleton and has consistently obtained excellent results which have helped to keep her community safe, including a conviction and criminal behaviour order for a large series of thefts from motor vehicles, as well as her investigation into ten cases of criminal damage in Walton which resulted in a conditional caution to make good on the damage caused.
PC Pitt covers Latchford and has taken ownership of numerous cases of theft, including shoplifting and bicycle theft. Her efforts have resulted in a large number of charges for prolific offenders.

Mr Carter said: “What a huge pleasure to be able to say thanks to Ann and Emma, two highly experienced and much appreciated local officers who play an important role in keeping our communities in Appleton and Latchford safe. It was also great to be able to introduce them both personally to the Prime Minister and for him to show his genuine appreciation for the work they and their colleagues do, day in day out.
“It’s so Important to have local policing at the core of the Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s strategy and I’m pleased to be able to work with John Dwyer to deliver more police locally. There are now 320 extra officers in Cheshire compared with 2019 and more officers are out on the beat tackling issues like anti-social behaviour and burglary.”

Superintendent Adam Ross said:“I’m hugely proud of the work of all officers in Warrington but it’s fantastic to see the really outstanding work of PC Pitt and PC Muldowney in keeping their communities safe being recognised in this way. They are a credit to Warrington and a credit to the Cheshire Constabulary.”

PC Muldowney said:“It was an honour to be invited and attend the Downing Street reception, we also had a tour of Parliament and even met the Prime Minister. It was a really special event which I will remember for the rest of my life.”
PC Pitt said:“Visiting Parliament and Downing Street was an incredible experience. We felt really honoured to be recognised for the work we do for Cheshire Police. We were even lucky enough to bump into the Prime Minister on our visit, who was kind enough to spare a few minutes of his time to speak to us.”
