Casualty released by firefighters following collision involving “blue lights” ambulance

ONE casualty was released by firefighters following a two-vehicle collision involving a “blue lights” ambulance and a Land Rover on Winwick Road, Warrington, yesterday.

Lengthy traffic delays were reported in the area following the collision near Motorparks.

At around 3.30 pm two fire crews attended the road traffic collision involving two vehicles. One casualty had to be released and was handed over to the care of the ambulance service. Firefighters made both vehicles safe before leaving the scene.

A Cheshire police spokesperson said: At 3.32 pm on Tuesday 5 December, police were called to reports of a collision on Winwick Road, near Motorparks, Warrington.
“The collision involved an ambulance driving on blue lights and a Land Rover. There were no patients in the ambulance at the time of the incident.
“There were no reports of any serious injuries and all the vehicles were recovered by 5.45 pm.”
