Temporary 30 mph speed limit on Winwick Link Road for up to 18 months

A temporary 30 mph speed limit is set to be introduced on the Winwick Link Road in Warrington, to allow for highway works associated with the Parkside development at nearby Newton-le-Willows.

The temporary speed limit could be for up to 18 months while works are ongoing.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a 30 miles per hour speed limit restriction on the following lengths of road: Winwick Link Road from its junction with Waterworks Lane to its junction with Winwick Lane; Winwick Lane from its junction with Winwick Link Road to the Borough Boundary with Wigan.
The Order will be effective from 27th November 2023 for 18 months, as and when signed on site. The restrictions are required to allow for highway works associated with the Parkside Development to take place.
