Carers come together to enjoy afternoon tea at St Rocco’s Hospice

CARERS across Warrington were invited to come together at St Rocco’s Hospice for a delightful afternoon, organised by Warrington Carers’ Hub.

The afternoon tea event was filled with homemade cakes, refreshments and live music. There was laughter, chatter and even some dancing, with carers taking the opportunity to enjoy some time out.
Singer, Emma Mawdsley, created a happy relaxed atmosphere, performing songs from across the decades in her unique easy listening style.

For many carers, this was a rare opportunity to take time to socialise, share their stories, see, and meet friends, and to make new friends.
One carer said, “I have been looking forward to this event as it encourages me to take time out just for me. It does me the world of good!”

Event organiser, Anna Zammit (Service Manager, Warrington Carers’ Hub) said “We have had some lovely comments from our carers, and it was an absolute pleasure for us to see them relaxing and chatting. I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to St Rocco’s Hospice for making our Afternoon Tea event such a huge success.”
‘It was a pleasure to host this event at the hospice, in collaboration with Warrington carers hub. Staff had the pleasure of taking time to enjoy the event and chat with carers, whilst listening to great live music’. Sara-Marie Black Chief Operating Officer
