The areas where bins will be collected for one day only as strike action set to continue

WITH bin strike action set to enter a third phase on Wednesday, Warrington Borough Council is hopeful that crews will be out on Tuesday (November 7) emptying black and blue bins in areas that normally have their bins emptied on a Tuesday.

Crews will focus on the collection of black and blue bins for those households who normally have their bins emptied on Tuesdays. If this applies to you, please leave your black and blue bins out.

To be clear – if this is normally your week to have your blue bin emptied, please leave this out. If it is normally your week to have your black bin emptied, please leave this out.

Black bin areas: Culcheth, Croft, Burtonwood, Glazebrook, Locking Stumps, Winwick, Rixton

Blue bin areas: Woolston, Bruche, Birchwood, Gorse Covert, Padgate, Poulton with Fearnhead

The council says it appreciates and regrets that many other households, who do not normally have their bins collected on Tuesdays, will not have their bins emptied on Tuesday 7 November.
They understand that given the prolonged and unsettled period caused by the bin strikes, green and blue bins have remained unemptied for several weeks.

Meanwhile, Warrington Borough Council is considering legal action after locally, the Unite Union instructed members not to return to work, despite a national pay deal being agreed last week. They are seeking better terms and conditions locally.
