College Employer Week welcomed organisations to inform and inspire students

EMPLOYER Week at Warrington & Vale Royal College was a fantastic opportunity for students to meet, interact with and learn lots from a range of employers working in a variety of industries.

As ‘Your Career College’, Warrington & Vale Royal College is committed to providing students with meaningful interactions and engagements with employers during their time at college. This is embedded into the curriculum but is most prominent during Employer Week; a bi-annual event that welcomes numerous organisations into the college.
All students, during their time at the college, are strongly encouraged to consider their careers and take a proactive approach to gaining valuable industry experience, and Employer Week provides a wonderful chance to do this.

Throughout the week, students were visited by Warrington Youth Zone, Gulliver’s World, Countryside, Catalyst Choices, Naked Beauty and many more, who provided valuable insight into what it’s like to work in their respective industries.

A standout event was Employer Festival, which took place on Wednesday 11th October and saw 25 organisations attend Warrington campus to listen to a presentation about Apprenticeships, T Levels and HTQs, as well as taking a tour of the several specialist academies, before taking the opportunity to have a stand at Opening Doors Recruitment Fair. In collaboration with Torus Foundation, Warrington & Vale Royal College was delighted to welcome over one hundred adults seeking employment to its Warrington campus, to meet a range of employers and explore their various career opportunities. The college hopes they came away from the event feeling inspired and informed about their next steps, with some even having interviews lined up.
Preparing students for the world of work is a vital part of Warrington & Vale Royal College’s mission and it wouldn’t be possible without the support of employers who take time out of their busy schedules to visit students and provide incredibly valuable insight. The college extends a huge thank you to everyone who joined them this week – students learned a lot about their chosen careers.

Are you an employer who can support the college by offering a guest lecture, providing a live brief, or welcoming a student into your business on an industry placement? For more information about the range of ways we can work together, email: [email protected] or call: 01925 494 271.
