Warrington Town secure hard-earned point at Alfreton Town

WARRINGTON Town secured a hard earned point in a battling 1-1 draw away at in form Alfreton Town FC.

The hosts took the lead after 18 minutes when a long throw caused chaos in the Town defence glancing off the top of Clarke’s head beating Atherton for an own goal.

But the Yellows equalised just before half-time through Matty Grivostia after along clearance from Atherton found Buckley Ricketts who shot against the post. Grivosti was first to react to get the ball over the line.

Chances were few and far between in the second half as Town secured a well earned draw.

After the game Town boss Mark Beesley said that the team had showed progress and probably wouldn’t have got a result a month ago.
