A second teenager has denied the murder of Brianna Ghey, aged 16.

Transgender teen Brianna Ghey, from Birchwood, Warrington, Cheshire, was discovered bearing fatal knife injuries on a walkway in Culcheth Linear Park, shortly after 3 pm on Saturday, February 11th.

A pair of 16-year-olds, one male and one female, face charges related to her killing.

In a preliminary court session at Manchester Crown Court today, Wednesday, one the accused teens entered a plea of not guilty.

The second teen had previously issued a not guilty plea during a court appearance at Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester, back in July.

Due to reporting restrictions, it is undisclosed which of the accused entered the initial plea.
The identities of both defendants are shielded due to their juvenile status.

The hearing included the female defendant from Warrington and the male from Leigh, both present in the dock.
Parents, other family members, and approximately six media personnel occupied the public gallery above during the court session.
The preliminary hearing is anticipated to span two days, with a trial earmarked for November 27th.
