Brave mum diagnosed with breast cancer raises over £6,000 for charity with sponsored hair cut

A MUM of three from Lymm facing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with breast cancer has bravely had her long blonde hair cut short, helping raise over £6,000 for The Little Princess Trust charity.

In the knowledge she would lose her hair, Becky Carroll had it cut with her children, family and close friends all cutting off a lock each to send to the charity that provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment, or to other conditions such as Alopecia.

Becky said: “I’m overwhelmed and incredibly grateful to everyone who has kindly donated to this wonderful charity. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I have received such love, kindness and support since my diagnosis and feel like the luckiest person

Her proud mum Alison Owens said: “There were a few tears but there was also a lot of love, laughter and celebration that Becky was empowered to cut off her hair for an excellent cause rather than endure the misery of watching it fall out.”
