VIDEO: DRAMATIC drone footage has captured the impact of flooding in and around the Sankey Valley Park area of Warrington following heavy rain over the weekend.

The areas impacted included Stanners Pool at Bewsey Park, Sankey Brook near Cromwell Avenue and the Maltings Pub and the Ledyard Close car park.

The dramatic footage was captured by local resident Rob Youd.

It comes after a number of flood alerts were issued for northern England over the weekend, including flood alerts issued for the Sankey catchment at approximately 8pm on the Sunday.

It isn’t the first time Sankey Valley Park has been hit by flooding.
The area was devastated in January 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic following a period of snow followed by heavy rain.
The Environment Agency has been contacted for comment.
