VIDEO: & Pictures: WALKERS taking part in the annual Stockton Heath Walking Day managed to dodge the showers on their annual Walk of Witness.

Congregating on Alexandra Park in the village, the churches, joined by marching bands and drummers, paraded through the village in mainly warm and sunny conditions, finishing before the showers arrived.

Special guests included new Mayor Cllr Steve Wright and Warrington South MP Andy Carter.

Mr Carter said: “It was great to see so many people supporting Walking Day in Stockton Heath, a tradition dating back many years with schools, churches and community groups coming together in the sunshine.”
It was a busy day for both after earlier in the day attending Penketh Carnival.
