Man and woman arrested after alleged town centre assault

A man and woman have been arrested following an alleged assault after an area near to the town centre was cordoned off by police.

The police incident took place earlier today, Monday at around 2:40 pm near the Salvation Army premises on Brick Street.

A large police presence attended at the scene and various streets nearby were cordoned off.

Cheshire Police confirmed that around 2.40pm today, Monday, June 26, officers were called to reports of an assault on Brick Street, Warrington and that a man and woman had been arrested and were helping police with their enquiries.
No other details are available at this stage.
