THERE was a mixture of sunshine and showers as thousands of people visited the annual Lymm Historic Transport Day as hundreds of vehicles, including steam engines, paraded through the village.
While the early part of the day wwas blessed with sunshine, heavy showers arrived mid afternoon as visitors packed onto the Lymm May Queen field to see more than 400 vehicles on display and various community stalls.
Starting with a Drive-In parade more than 100 cars of all shapes and sizes took part, along with cyclists and motrcyclists as well as various steam engines. Village Town Crier AJ Powell was on hand to officially start the parade.
Following the parade crowds flocked onto the May Queen Field were as well as numerous vehicles there were various stalls and dozens of exciting attractions and live music.
Maple Lodge had a fantastic lego display while the Village Hall hosted a stunning model railway set up.
There was also an exhibition at Lymm Heritage Centre charting a decade of Lymm Historic Transport Day, while next door in the community centre there was an artisan market.
Numerous historic canal boats also gathered on the Bridgewater Canal.
