HUNDREDS of people descended on Warrington’s Victoria Park at the weekend to take part in Cancer Research’s Race for Life fundraising event.

One of the sponsors of Race for Life was Slimming World and local consultant Anne-Marie McCulloch, led a group from her Slimming World sessions at Hood Manor, Westbrook and Fearnhead to raise £1.5K for Cancer Research.

The group has lost an incredible 32 stone between them by making healthy habits and getting the confidence to get active with Slimming World’s physical activity support programme, Body Magic. Starting small with short walks, they have made active habits a part of daily life before building up to cross the finish line, feeling full of pride.

Anne-Marie said, “I’m just so proud of everyone coming together to raise money for such a worthy cause. It was a really enjoyable day, in really warm weather. The atmosphere was really heartwarming. Well done to all the team and a big thank you to everyone for their generous donations. We’re really grateful”.

Many entrants dressed in pink and fancy dress, with some displaying messages on their backs in memory of loved ones or those fighting cancer.
