Three more COVID-19 related deaths as infection rates and hospital inpatient numbers continue to fall

WHILE three more COVID-19 related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital, the number of reported infections have continued to fall for an eighth consecutive week.

A total of 11 (14) COVID-19 cases were reported in the past week with only one area, Blackbrook (3) recording enough cases to provide small area data.

The 11 cases week ending May 20 compared to 14 cases in the week ending May 13. While there have been three more COVID-19-related hospital deaths reported in the past week, inpatient numbers have fallen from 26-16. A total of 15 patients were discharged.

There have been 11 (14) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 86,207 (86,194) – 79,015 (79,009) 1st infections, 7,192 (7,185) reinfections and an infection rate of 5.3 (6.7) per 100,000 which has fallen again, compared to a rate of 11.8 (14.1) for England which has also fallen.
