WARRINGTON runners are being urged to grab their trainers for a family fun run for a good cause at Gulliver’s World.

The theme park resort will host the colourful race, which follows a route of approximately one mile taking in the park’s rides and attractions, on Sunday, July 16.
The run will raise money for Warrington-based St. Rocco’s Hospice, which provides free care 365 days of the year for people with life-limiting illnesses.
A ticket combining the fun run and theme park entry is just £15 per person, with £5 of each entry donated directly to St Rocco’s.
For every participant, Gulliver’s Land will also donate one theme park ticket to a local children’s charity, supporting young people in Warrington.
Participants are invited to run, walk or toddle to the finish line at the end of the one-mile race route. All participants will receive a fun run medal and amazing prices are up for grabs for the best fancy dress costume.
A place in the race must be booked online, with 500 places available. Registration and runner number collection takes place at 9am, with the race beginning at 9.45am. Rides and attractions open from 10.30am.
Those not taking part can still purchase theme park tickets (entry from 10.30am) at the standard rate.

Craig Clews, resort director at Gulliver’s World, said: “St. Rocco’s needs to raise £5.2million a year to provide their vital care for free so we hope to raise as much money as possible to support this essential work.
“We hope to see as many runners and walkers as possible at our annual fun run to enjoy some exercise, have fun and help support an important organisation in the Warrington community.”
Karen Rutherford, corporate and community fundraiser at St. Rocco’s, said: “At St. Rocco’s we focus on supporting patients physically, psychologically and emotionally to enable them to carry on living the lives they want to live for as long as possible.
“We have previously partnered with Gulliver’s World and are thrilled to again for their annual fun run. It will be a wonderful, fun-filled day for the whole family and will help us raise funds to continue providing palliative care for the people of Warrington, free of charge.”
