ORIGINATING in Australia the first ever Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) is set to take to the streets of Warrington later this month (May) raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride has been organised in Warrington where about 30 riders, dressed in their finest suits and ties, will meet at local motorcycle dealer, In2moto.

They will then ride through the town centre before heading out of town and through a combination of villages and towns, eventually arriving at Jodrell Bank’s visitors centre a few hours later.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) unites classic and vintage-styled motorcycle riders from all over the world to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health.
It was founded in Sydney, Australia. Over the past 11 years, it has grown to become an annual worldwide fundraising event, bringing dapper-dressed motorcycle enthusiasts and riders in cities all across the globe together on Sunday 21st May.

Organiser of the DGR Warrington ride, Phil Hesmondhalgh said; “This is a very different motorcycle event that moves away from the stereotypical image of bikers while focusing on raising funds for two very important causes, men’s mental health and prostate cancer research. Thanks to the generosity of local riders and supporters, the Warrington ride has already raised nearly £4,000 and we hope to reach our target of £4,500 by the 21st May”.
He added: “We still have a small number of places available on the ride, so if any men or women owners of classic or modern retro bikes would like to register, please go to: www.gentlemansride.com/rides/england/warrington
If you see the riders on their route on Sunday 21st May, be sure to give them a wave and a cheer!
