New Town Crier performs first Royal Proclamation as Lymm celebrates Coronation of King Charles III

VIDEO: LYMM’S new Town Crier AJ Powell performed his first Royal Proclamation on Lymm Cross on Saturday morning to announce the Coronation of King Charles III.

AJ is the grandson of the village’s former Town Crier Peter Powell who sadly died earlier this year.

AJ was joined by members of Lymm Parish Council and villagers at the event which helped kickstart a number of activities and events taking place in the vilage to celebrate the Coronation weekend.

Monday 8th May – The Big Help Out: Keep Lymm Kleen Litter Pick
Instead of holding a large scale event for King Charles III’s Coronation, the Palace is suggesting that people come together to improve their communities, and Lymm Parish Council is supporting this. The council has organised a village litter pick on the bank holiday Monday, 8th May. Grabbers, bags and vests will be provided, as well as refreshments. All welcome – meet at the village hall for 10.30 am. The event will be finished by 12.00 so volunteers can enjoy the holiday afternoon.

Also, don’t miss the Heritage Centre window display with a stunning rendition of the Coronation Crown – illuminated too from late afternoon. It’s another outstanding piece of work by local artist Colin Grimes. Inside the Centre there’s the five-minute movie capturing Lymm’s celebration of the coronation of George V 1911… in colour! And youngsters can make their own jewelled crown to take home FREE. More at www.lymmhic.co.uk
