Driver under investigation as police launch appeal after 46-year-old man suffers life-threatening injuries

POLICE today appealed for information and video footage after a 46-year-old man was seriously injured in a collision in Bewsey, Warrington.

The incident was at about 4.15pm on Friday, April 14.in Priestley Street.

Officers were called to the scene and found that a cyclist had been in collision with a white Fiat Qubo near a pedestrian crossing.

The cyclist, a 46-year-old man, is believed to have sustained serious, life-threatening, injuries and was taken to the Walton Centre Hospital in Liverpool for treatment.
The car driver, a 50-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. She has since been released under investigation.
Officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has any dashcam or CCTV footage from around the time of the incident to come forward.
