COVID-19 infection rates down to single figures in all areas of Warrington

THE number of COVID-19 infections is now in single figures in all areas of Warrington as infection rates continue to fall for a third consecutive week.

A total of 63 (115) cases were reported in the past week with all areas in single figures. A further 23 deaths have been reported by the hospital in the past week but these have been impacted by a data validation exercise.

The 63 cases week ending April 8 compared to 115 cases in the week ending April 1 While there have been 23 more COVID-19-related hospital deaths reported in the past week, inpatient numbers have reduced from 26-25.

Warrington & Halton Hospitals figures 
*The hospital has recommenced publishing COVID-19 status data daily Monday-Friday (excluding bank holidays) following a data validation exercise.
Current inpatients as of Thursday, April 13, 2023, compared to Thursday, April 6 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 25 (26) including 0 (0) in ICU.

Cumulative deaths (deaths of positive inpatients) – current figure 887 (864)
*Hospital deaths include residents from Warrington and Halton. The total deaths of Warrington residents can be seen below.
*The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 773 – 369.2 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 327.5.
*The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 767– 363.3 per 100,000.
*Data last updated Thursday, March 30 and now only updated weekly.
There have been 63 (115) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 86,050 (86,001) – 78,936 (78,904) 1st infections, 7114  (7,097) reinfections and an infection rate of 30.1 (54.9) per 100,000 which has fallen again, compared to a rate of 24.5 (37.8) for England which has also fallen.
