Wolves’ girls deliver ‘scrum-my’ Easter gifts to children in hospital

WARRINGTON Wolves Women and Girls Community Rugby League Club’s Under-14s’ players delivered a special ‘get well soon’ gift for children having to spend the Easter weekend in Warrington Hospital.

Team manager Becci Nichols and players Darcy Lloyd, Abi Green and Hollie Smith dropped off around 40 Easter Eggs at children’s wards B10 and B11 on Saturday.
The donation was the idea of coach Aidy Wintersgill, who suggested the girls collect the eggs for charity rather than buy each other one this year.
Becci said: “We are always looking to give back to the community whenever we can and the girls loved getting involved.
“Even though there is a cost of living crisis at the moment, they didn’t let us down.
“We chose the children’s ward as we wanted to bring them some normality and a ‘pick me up’ as being in hospital at any age can be daunting. We hope they enjoyed their goodies.”
Darcy said: “We thought it was a nice thing to do and we hope all the children on the wards all get better soon.”
