Five more COVID-19 related deaths although infection rates continue to fall

FIVE more COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital in the past week, while infection rates in the town have continued to fall for a second consecutive week.

A total of 115 (126) cases were reported in the past week with the largest number of cases (12) being reported in Callands & Old Hall, with all other areas in single figures.

The 115 cases week ending April 1 compared to 126 cases in the week ending March 30 While there have been five more COVID-19-related hospital deaths in the past week, inpatient numbers have reduced from 31-26 with 34 (28) patients discharged in the past week.

There have been 131 (126) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 86,001 (85,909) – 78,904 (78,848) 1st infections, 7097 (7,061) reinfections and an infection rate of 54.9 (60.2) per 100,000 which have fallen slightly, compared to a rate of 37.8 (46.3) for England which have also risen.
