St Rocco’s receives £5,000 boost to provide vital services to patients

A £5,000 donation to St Rocco’s Hospice from The Equilibrium Foundation will enable the provision of five weeks of complementary therapy treatment in its Vitality Centre.

Patients and carers can access the purpose-built facility for physiotherapy at the day unit, small routine procedures and creative therapies.
The hospice offers free patient care to people in Warrington living with life-limiting illnesses and their families. This care is delivered through its 10-bed in-patient unit and Hospice-at-Home service, which provides support in the comfort of a patient’s home. In addition, the charity offers emotional support through its counselling service and bereavement café.
The charity relies on support from individuals, groups and local organisations taking part in its events, organising their own fundraising activities, playing its lottery and making gifts or donations. This year, St Rocco’s is hosting its first Hospice Hike on the 17th of June from Warrington Town Hall. Supporters will be sponsored to take part in a 10k, half marathon or full marathon hike.
The donation from The Equilibrium Foundation, the charitable giving arm of Equilibrium Financial Planning, based in Handforth, Cheshire,  has already raised over £750,000 for charities in the local community, with a goal to raise £4m by 2028.

Nicola Henshaw, fundraising manager at St. Rocco’s, said: “We simply couldn’t survive without donations so we’re extremely grateful to receive this support from The Equilibrium Foundation. It costs £4.5m every year to provide our care, and this is completely free to those who need us. We rely on voluntary donations and fundraising to meet that cost, which equates to more than £12,000 every day.
“Our supporters ensure that we can continue to be here for patients and their families when they need us.”
Debbie Jukes, partner and head of client care at Equilibrium Financial Planning, said: “We’re passionate about supporting charities making a difference to the lives of people in the North West. St. Rocco’s provided invaluable support to a member of the Equilibrium team, and we’re pleased that our donation will enable more patients and carers to access The Vitality Centre and the excellent services that it facilitates.
“We also encourage charitable organisations in the region to apply to our Community Support Scheme which offers grants of up to £500 to five winners every six months.”
