Eleven more COVID-19 related deaths as infection rates rise again

ELEVEN more COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital in the past week, while infection rates have risen again after last week’s fall.

A total of 117 (104) cases were reported in the past week with the largest number of cases (22) being reported in the Winwick & Burtonwood area.

The 117 cases week ending March 4 compared to 104 cases in the week ending March 4. While there have been 11 more COVID-19-related hospital deaths in the past week, inpatient numbers have reduced from 39-33 with 25 (35) patients discharged in the past week.

There have been 117 (104) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 85,624 (85,519) – 78,697 (78,623) 1st infections, 6,945 (6,896) reinfections and an infection rate of 55.9 (49.7) per 100,000 which have risen again, compared to a rate of 46.3 (43) for England which have also risen.
