Six more COVID-19 related deaths as infections rates rise for 5th consecutive week

ANOTHER six COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital in the past week, with infection rates rising again for a fifth consecutive week.

A total of 122 (87) cases were reported in the past week and are now in double figures in several areas of the town.

The 122 cases week ending February 25 compared to 87 cases in the week ending Feb 18. While there have been six more COVID-19-related hospital deaths in the past week, although inpatient numbers have reduced from 46-41 with 28 (33) patients discharged in the past week.

Current inpatients as of Thursday, March 2 2023, compared to Thursday, February 23 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 41 (46) including 3 (1) in ICU.

There have been 122 (87) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 85,402 (85,283) – 78,553  (78,489)  1st infections, 6,849 (6,794) reinfections and an infection rate of 58.3 (41.5) per 100,000 which has risen for a fifth week, compared to a rate of 43.4 (45.4) for England which have fallen slightly.
