Five more COVID-19 related deaths as infection rates rise slightly again

FIVE more COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital in the past week, with infection rates rising slightly for a fourth consecutive week.

A total of 87 cases were reported in the past week but remain in single figures in all areas of Warrington.

The 87 cases week ending February 18 compared to 82 cases in the week ending Feb 11. While there have been five more COVID-19-related hospital deaths in the past week, although inpatient numbers have reduced from 53-6 with 33 (30) patients discharged in the past week.

Current inpatients as of Thursday, February 23 2023, compared to Thursday, February 16 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 46 (53) including 1 (1) in ICU.

There have been 82 (82) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 85,283 (85,198) – 78,489  (78,438)  1st infections, 6,794 (6,760) reinfections and an infection rate of 41.5 (39.2) per 100,000 which has risen for a second week, compared to a rate of 45.4 (36.9) for England which has also risen.
