Eight more COVID-19 related deaths as inpatient numbers and infection rates rise

EIGHT COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital in the past week, with inpatient numbers and infection rates rising after recent falls.

A total of 64 cases were reported in the past week but rfemain in single figures in all areas of Warrington despite the increasing trend.

The 64 cases week ending January 28 compared to 40 cases in the week ending January 21. While there have been eight more COVID-19-related hospital death in the past week, inpatient numbers have risen from 38-47 with 18 (23) patients discharged in the past week.

There have been 64 (40) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 85,030 (84,962) – 78,341  (78,301)  1st infections, 6,689 (6,661) reinfections and an infection rate of 30.6 (19.1) per 100,000 which has risen after recent falls, compared to a rate of 26.8 (22) for England which has also risen.
