CHANGE TO METRIC
Change to reporting of deaths metrics
From 26 January 2023, the way we present COVID-19 death statistics on the COVID-19 dashboard is changing. “Deaths with COVID-19 on the death registration” (deaths from COVID-19) will replace “deaths within 28 days of a positive test” (deaths with COVID-19) as the primary reported COVID-19 death statistic.
On the dashboard, this means:
“Deaths with COVID-19 on the death registration” will replace “Deaths within 28 days of a positive test” on the Summary and postcode search pages
“Deaths within 28 days of a positive test” will be removed from the headline on the Deaths page
Charts showing “Deaths with COVID-19 on the death registration” will move to the top of the Deaths page
Charts showing “Deaths within 28 days of a positive test” will continue to be produced and updated, and will move to appear below the “Deaths with COVID-19 on the death registration” charts on the Deaths page.
