More than 800 COVID-related hospital deaths and over 5,000 patients discharged since start of pandemic as five more deaths confirmed

FIVE more COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital in the past week with the death toll since the start of the pandemic surpassing 800, while more than 5,000 patients have been treated and discharged.

Meanwhile, infection rates are continuing to fall with 72 cases reported in the past week, and are now in single figures in all areas of Warrington.

The 72 cases week ending January 14 compared to 127 cases in the week ending January 7. While there have been five more COVID-19-related hospital death in the past week, inpatient numbers have fallen from 42-34 with 32 (33) patients discharged in the past week.

There have been 72 (127) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 84,906 (84,848) – 78,263  (78,232)  1st infections, 6,643 (6,616) second and an infection rate of 34.4 (60.7) per 100,000 which has fallen, compared to a rate of 27.8 (49.5) for England which has also fallen.
