Two more COVID-19 deaths as inpatient numbers and infection rates show downward trend

TWO more COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital in the past week although hospital inpatient numbers and infection rates are showing a downward trend.

Infection rates are in single figures in all but four areas of Warrington, Fairfield & Howley, Central Warrington, Callands & Old Hall and Stockton Heath & Hillcliffe.

The 127 cases week ending January 7  compared to 147 cases in the week ending December 31. While there have been two more COVID-19-related hospital death in the past week, inpatient numbers have fallen slightly from 45-42 with 33 (42) patients discharged in the past week.

There have been 127 (147) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 84,848 (84,752) – 78,232  (78,177)  1st infections, 6,616 (6,575) second and an infection rate of 60.7 (70.2) per 100,000 which has fallen, compared to a rate of 49.5 (64.7) for England which has also fallen.
