CASH seized from criminals is being used to tackle crime grants of up to £10,000 available for community organisations, charities and businesses to support projects which can work hand-in-hand with community policing teams to improve the town.

Warrington South MP Andy Carter is working closely with Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire John Dwyer to help to prioritise the work of Cheshire Police – so if you’ve got an idea for a project that will make a real difference, they want to hear from you.

Mr Carter said: “Police Officer numbers have swelled over the last two years and we now have the most police officers in Cheshire we’ve had on for the current Force area – but tackling crime is also about prevention and working with the Community to help reduce the opportunities. The Police and Crime Commissioner has grants available to help support initiatives in Warrington South, applicants can be businesses led, Parish Council or volunteers or community groups and I’m very happy to provide advice for any group making an application.”

The Community Cashback Fund is generated from money seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act and the application process is open now and will close at 9am on Friday 27 January 2023.
