The youths had spotted a male enter the pond after taking off his outer coats and were concerned for his safety.

Warrington Police posted on social media:

“We often post on here about issues that some younger people cause us around the town, however we would like to thank those that got the attention of some adult members of the public this evening in Woolston Park.
We attended along with the Fire and Ambulance Services and thanks to all involved the male is now receiving the help he needs in hospital.
I am sure that along with us, the male in question will be grateful for their actions.”

  1. It’s such a treat, for a change, to hear someone express their praise for young people. We only seem to have news of misbehaviour, violence and abuse. We should remember that there are so many youngsters who are unsung heroes getting on with their lives.
