Six more COVID-19 related deaths as inpatient numbers and infection rates rise slightly

SIX more COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital since last week with hospital inpatient numbers and infection rates rising slightly since last week

Despite the continuing rise, infection rates are in single figures in all but two areas of Warrington, Stockton Heath & Hillcliffe and Callands and Old Hall, where 10 infections have been reported.

The 111 cases week ending Dec 17 compared to 103 cases in the week ending December 10 , compared to 70 the previous week and 93 the week before that. While there have been six more COVID-19-related hospital death since last week, inpatient numbers have risen from 24-26  with 16 (24) patients discharged since last Thursday.

Current inpatients as of Thursday, December 22,  2022, compared to Thursday, December 15 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 26 (24) including 1 (1) in ICU.

*The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 714 – 341 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 309.5.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 740– 352 per 100,000.

There have been 111 (103) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 84,457  (84,331) – 77,996  (77,910)  1st infections, 6,461 (6,442) second and an infection rate of 53 (49.2) per 100,000 which have risen, compared to a rate of 65.4 (49.2) for England which has also risen.
