Three more COVID-19 related deaths as infection rates rise to 103 cases

THREE more COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital since last week and although hospital inpatient numbers have fallen, reported infections in the local community have risen.

Despite the rise, infection rates are in single figures in all but one area of Warrington, Callands and Old Hall, where 15 infections have been reported.

The 103 cases week ending Dec 10 compared to 70 cases in the week ending December 3 , compared to 93 the previous week and 74 the week before that. While there have been three more COVID-19-related hospital death since last week, inpatient numbers have risen from 41-24  with 24 (16) patients discharged since last Thursday.

Current inpatients as of Thursday, December 15,  2022, compared to Thursday, December 8 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 24 (41) including 1 (0) in ICU.

The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 738 – 352 per 100,000.

There have been 93 (93) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 84,332  (84,217) – 77,910 (77,833)  1st infections, 6,442 (6,384) second and an infection rate of 49.2 (33.4) per 100,000 which have risen, compared to a rate of 49.2 (41.4) for England which have risen.
