TOWN centre revellers are being urged to turn back the clock to the “good old days” with a huge fancy dress party on Boxing Day.

Town centre bars have joined forces and are encouraging staff and customers to dress to impress this Boxing Day.

Jenny Keepe, manager at Panama Jack’s in the town centre said: “I remember when town used to be so different to what it is now. Some things just aren’t the same anymore but this started to slowly happen before covid, then covid came and it changed even more having such a huge impact on so many businesses and so many lives.
“Life changed for everyone. It’s become so hard for so many people, especially the hospitality industry.

“We want to bring the community back to life again with some fun for customers and the staff too and go back in time with a huge Boxing Day fancy dress party.
“We are now just hoping the customers will jump on board with us now too.”

Pictures show previous fancy dress Boxing Day events between 2007 and 2018.
